Alfred Smith, 89, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 in Graham. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Alfred was born December 2, 1923 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late George Irvin and Ollie Belle (Lewis) Smith. He married Margie (Allen) Thornbrue, January 21, 1974 in Springfield, Tennessee. Alfred was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and he retired from real estate investments.
Survivors include: wife, Margie Smith of Graham; daughters, Georgie Gibbs and husband Jerry of Burleson and Glenda Reeves and husband, Don of Graham; son, Carl D. Thronbrue and wife, Donna of Graham; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; brothers, Aubrey Smith of Pulliman, Michigan, and Waymon Smith of Owensboro, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
