Alyne Thompson, 99, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Graham. Funeral service will be Monday, May 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Richard Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Alyne was born January 28, 1912 in Bryson, Texas to the late Betty Pearl Tudor and Samuel Arthur Henderson. She graduated from Weatherford College. Alyne married Raymon Thompson July 21, 1934 in Bryson. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1989.
She taught school in Bryson for three years before moving to Graham. Alyne was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was active in Modern Martha Sunday School Class, member of Silas Morton Chapter, and Graham Woman's Club.
Survivors include; two daughters, Bettye Lester and Judy Reynolds both of Graham; sister, Mary Eldredge of Houston; brother, Rex Henderson of Graham; grandchildren, Connie Carey, Russell Carey, III, Colby Krause, and Angie Ratliff; great grandchildren, Paige Darrah, Leslie Pyron, Alyssa Carey, Russell Carey, IV, Chandler, Carson, and Carter Krause, Jefferson, Fletcher, and Evelyn Ratliff; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Alyne was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Bounds and Pauline Staggs and three brothers, Samuel Arthur, Harold, and Cecil Henderson and a granddaughter, Debbie Carey.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 88, Graham, Texas 76450.
The family will be at Morrison Funeral Home to greet friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
