Arthur Lee Mixon

Arthur Lee Mixon, Jr. 81, passed away Thursday August 22, 2024. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Morrison Funeral Home. Family only graveside service will be at Pioneer Cemetery officiated by Pastor Dawayne Barnett. 

Arthur was born October 9, 1942 in Graham to the late Mary Elizabeth (Dozier) Mixon and Arthur Lee Mixon, Sr. Arthur married Glenda Sheryl Franklin October 29, 1967 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a former longtime employee of Graham Magnetics Inc and retired from Retail Sales at Buchanan Building Supply. 

Arthur was an active member of Graham Church of God, and taught Sunday school for senior adult class. He loved to study the Bible and one of his favorite scriptures was found in 2 Tim 4:7-8. 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.'

His favorite activities included deer hunting, fishing, and dove hunting. He also enjoyed watching old western tv shows. His true love was pursuing God and Bible study. He had a heart for others and looked for opportunities to share Jesus with anyone who would listen. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Clyde Hailey. 

Survivors include: wife, Glenda Mixon of Graham; son, Mark Mixon and wife Edwina of Graham; daughter, Janece Armstrong and husband Scott of Graham; grandchildren, Brian Armstrong, Meredith Armstrong, Marissa Mixon, and Kaycee Mixon; sister, Patsy Hailey of Irving, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Graham Church of God Youth Fund or charity of your choice. His favorite charities were St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Feed the Children.
