Betty Joy Cranfill, 86, peacefully passed away on Sunday, Aug 8, 2021 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Eastside Church of Christ, 705 Indiana Street, Graham, Texas. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery. Betty was born June 10,1935 in Porter Springs, Texas to the late Diamond and Charles Waymon Brewton. She grew up in Alice, Texas and in 1956, she met her husband, Hoyt Cranfill. Together their passage took them to ministries in Texas and New Mexico. They retired in 1996 in Graham, Texas. Betty was a minister’s wife, assistant to school administrators, bankers, and physicians. She was an active member at Eastside Church of Christ. Hoyt preceded her in death on January 24, 2018.
Betty was known as “Sweet Betty” to everyone that had the privilege to know her. She was ahead of her time when it came to inspiring and empowering young women to have strength and dignity. Her family was her pride and joy and the devotion to her husband and children was fierce and faithful. She had an extraordinary smile, gave the best hugs, and was beautiful inside and out. A most precious angel has entered the pearly gates and we were all blessed by her time on earth.
The family would like to give special thanks to our dear family friend Sherri Stone, Betty’s friend and roommate Elsie Thomas, the staff and caregivers at Elmcroft of Graham, and Beyond Faith Home Health and Hospice.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy Rogers and her husband Brian of Houston; son, Sam Cranfill and his wife Cindy of Parker, Colorado; grandchildren, Brandy and Ashley Booth; loving nieces and nephews that she adored.
Betty was preceded in death by sisters Anita Tracy and Charlene Brewton.
