Betty Grubbs

Betty Jo Simpson Grubbs, 90, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at her home in Newcastle. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in Eastside Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Betty was born March 23, 1926 in Olney to the late James Samuel and Ritha Olive (Downey) Simpson.

She married Hugh Glen Grubbs on December 11, 1948 in Odessa and he preceded her in death March 4, 2016. Betty retired from Graham Savings and Loan Association and was a member of Graham Regional Hospital Auxiliary, Young County Democratic Women and Eastside Church of Christ.

Survivors: daughter; Vicki Nunn and husband Larry of Midland, sons; Gordon H. Grubbs and wife Wendy of Newcastle, Mark C. Grubbs and wife InSuk of Kansas City, Michael R. Blevins and wife Susan of Granbury, sisters, Wanda Primrose of Graham, Glenda Wooldridge and husband, Terry Neal of Newcastle, and Carolyn Collins and husband, Richard of Graham; grandchildren; Bill Grubbs, Jason Grubbs, Becky Jones, Ashley Castro, Brian Blevins, Eric Blevins and Alisha Grubbs, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; Debra Ann Grubbs, brothers, Durwood and James Dois Simpson

Family visitation will held Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
