Betty Carlene Vallejos passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the age of 71, in Las Vegas, Nevada. A celebration of her life will take place on Friday, April 8, 2011, at 2:00 pm in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.
Betty was born to Carl and Bessie (Ainsworth) Howard on February 2, 1940, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She grew up in Bryson, Texas, but loved to travel to new places - spending time in various cities in California, Missouri, Arizona, and Nevada. She married her best friend and soul mate, Robert Vallejos, on August 7, 1970, in Santa Cruz, California. They celebrated over 40 years of fun and love together.
Known for her beautiful smile and love for life, Betty was a warm, loving person with a huge spirit and kind heart. She was an avid football fan, and long time supporter of the Oakland Raiders. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, traveling, and trying her luck on the penny slot machines. Betty was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her, and will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Vallejos, of Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Vicki (Johnson) Long of Moscow Mills, Missouri, and Tamra Vallejos, of Los Angeles, California; her brother Wayne (Clara) Howard of Mineral Wells, Texas; grandsons Justin Johnson and Alex Williams; great-granddaughter Kyla Johnson, all of Moscow Mills, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will also be dearly missed by her beloved little dogs, Cricket and Benny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her son-in-law, John Long.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or charity of choice.
We will forever miss you, until we meet again.
"...life with you is like living in a beautiful dream..."
