Bill Burgess

Willie Edward "Bill" Burgess, 89, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010 in Graham. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Oasis of Grace Church. Burial will follow in South Bend Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Bill was born on November 21, 1920 in South Bend to the late Ola Elizabeth (McCluskey) and Ben Edward Burgess. He married Fleeta Louise Ford on June 10, 1942 in Graham. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a Rancher and Oil & Gas Operator in Young County all of his life.

Survivors include: wife, Fleeta Burgess of Graham; daughters, Sherrye Nail and husband, John, Jane Nail, and Elaine Lankford and husband, Dan all of Graham; grandchildren, Angie Butler Peterson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Todd Foust of Graham, Priscilla Cusenbary of Graham, Julie Tennant of Graham, Dr. Burgess Lankford of San Antonio, Melissa Reese of Graham, and John Nail, Jr. of Springfield, Missouri; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Joy Bolen of Fort Worth.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Butler and sister, Edith Lawrence.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
