Billie Simpson Whitson, 79, passed away at her home in Graham, Monday December 10, 2012. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction Morrison Funeral Home.
Billie was born January 21, 1933 in Graham to the late William Jasper and Marjorie Daisy Miles Simpson. She married Jack Whitson, December 11, 1948 in Graham. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2001. Billie was an extraordinary person. She had nine children and taught them all the value of hard work, sticking together, and love as a family and toward others. She worked in school cafeterias for 15 years as well as having an upholstery business at home for 32 years. She loved the Church and the Lord, her faith never wavering.
Billie was a member of the Graham Art Guild where she met an abundance of beautiful people. She won numerous awards for her paintings and she loved to sew. She was a member of Graham Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she worked at all levels.
She made a lot of sacrifices for her children. She applied herself whole heartedly to each and all endeavors. She was honest and trustworthy. A Blessing as a Mother.
Survivors include; 5-daughters, Judy Broomfield, Paula Nantz and husband Dennis, Carolyn Bush all of Graham, Pamela Hoover and husband John of Weatherford, Marjorie Pratt and husband Robert of Wichita Falls; 3-sons, Jacky Whitson and wife Dawn, Jerry Whitson and wife Brenda of Graham, Jimmy Whitson of Greenville; 22 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren; sister, Tommie Shifflett of Graham; brother, Danny Simpson of Shannon.
Billie was preceded in death by a daughter, Leta Joy Sanderson in 2012.
The Family will be at Morrison Funeral Home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends.
