Billy Lee McMath, 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Graham. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Proffitt Cemetery in Young County with Gary Tull officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Billy was born on July 14, 1931 in Round Top, New Mexico to the late William Ped and Eva Lee (Lassiter) McMath. He married Ann Marie Watson on March 14, 1953 in Richmond, Virginia. Billy was a District Supervisor for Santa Fe Railroad and a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korean War. He was a member of the Newcastle Booster Club.
Survivors include: wife, Ann Marie McMath of Graham; daughters, Julie Creel of Graham and Laura Creel and husband, Rickey of Newcastle; son, Randy McMath of Graham; sister, Marilyn Coburn of Estancia, New Mexico; brothers, Jack McMath of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Gordon McMath of Mountainair, New Mexico, and Charles McMath of Elephant-Butte, New Mexico; 6 grandchildren, Brady Creel, Dusty Creel and wife, Kaci, Chet Creel and wife, Dancey, Jamie Creel, Todd Creel and wife, Whitney, and Jodi Smith and husband, DJ; great granddaughter, Jayci Smith.
Memorials may be made to the Young County Humane Society.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
