Bobbie Joe "Shep" Shepard, 87, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Bobbie was born September 5, 1926 in Graham to the late Joe and Nellie (Sanders) Shepard. He married Frances Chapin October 9, 1953 in Graham. Bobbie attended Tarleton State University and graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in soil agronomy. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WW II and was a member of Country Road Fellowship. Shep was a former member of the Young County Soil and Water Conservation and Farm Bureau Boards. He was a successful farmer and rancher and a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include: wife, Frances Shepard of Graham; daughters, Karen Barner of Graham, Gail Kovar and husband, Larry of Graham, and Linda Haro of Arlington; brother, Walter Gene Shepard and wife, Erma of Graham; grandchildren, Robert Barner and wife Krista of Frisco, Matt Barner and wife Amy of McKinney, Seth Kovar of Roanoke, Virginia, Tara Williams of Arlington, and Gabe Haro of Arlington; great grandchildren, Lauren and Jackson Barner, Barrett and Mallory Barner, and Avery and Gabby Williams: niece, Ann Kniffen and husband Bennie of Fort Worth; nephew, Mark Shepard and wife Kay of Loving; sister-in-law, Libby Prusack and husband John of McKinney.

Family visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
