Charles Edward McBroom

Charles Edward McBroom, age 78, passed away in Mineral Wells Friday, January 27, 2023. Funeral will be 2:00 PM in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Charles was born on February 23, 1944 in Beaumont, Texas to Reauben Earl McBroom and Gladys (Gaskin) McBroom. He was raised in Kirbyville, Texas and moved to Graham in 1986, where he resided until 2003 when he moved to Mineral Wells. He married Karen Kee in Odessa on November 7, 1986. He worked in Pipeline Construction for 42 years. He was known as one of the best tie-in men in Texas. Charles was an avid football fan.

Charles is survived by his wife, Karen McBroom of Mineral Wells; daughters, Renee McBroom Callahan and husband Curt of Mustang, Oklahoma, Stacey Riley Droz and husband Ray of Mineral Wells; sons, Kirby McBroom of Elk City, Oklahoma, Alan Riley and wife Jennifer of Granbury; grandchildren, Ashley Callahan and wife Tori, Brad Riley, Ryan Riley and wife Lauren, Staton McBroom, Blake Riley, Grant McBroom, and Jett Callahan; great grandchild, Ryann Callahan-Scott; cousins, Frances Scoggins and Ronnie Gaskin; and uncle Thomas McBroom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reauben and Gladys McBroom.
