David Donaway

David Edwin Donaway of Graham, Texas, passed away peacefully at Hendricks Hospital on June 15, 2015. 

David is survived by his wife of 18 years, Madilon McCarley Donaway;  three sons, Cody Long and his wife Missy, Tanner Long, Chase Long and his wife Abby, seven of the most beautiful grandchildren, Kasey, Colton, Bryson, Tatum, Breeley, Jackson, Beckett and Georgia Long, and a beautiful new granddaughter in law, Erin Anderson;  parents, Hubert and Marlene Donaway,  brother, Duane Donaway and wife Laura,  and sister, Diane Jackson and husband, Rodney and lifelong friends, Scott and Phyllis Thane.

He was born in Odessa, Texas on February 27, 1963 to Hubert and Marlene Donaway.  He met the love of his life in Midland, Texas and married her on October 9, 1997. David started his banking career in Odessa, Texas in 1981.  Madilon followed him from Odessa, Midland, Carrollton and finally to Graham, Texas where he served as the Vice President Indirect Loans at Ciera Bank.  He was an active member of Oak Street Baptist Church and was chairman of the Finance Committee.  He was an avid golfer and served as President of the Graham Country Club. 

David’s sense of humor remained through his illness and it was his personal request that his visitation be scheduled on a Wednesday during tee time.  Visitation is Wednesday, June 17th at 1:00 at Morrison Funeral Home in Graham, Texas.  Graveside services will be at the Donaway family cemetery in Dothan, Texas on Thursday, June 18th at 10:00 followed by a Celebration Service at Oak Street Baptist Church in Graham, Texas at 3:00.   

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to Oak Street  Baptist Church and will be distributed to his favorite ministries.  Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Home in Graham, Texas.
