Derek Myatt

Derek Myatt, 21, passed away Monday, February 23, 2009 in Austin. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Faith Center Assembly of God with Charlie Bazan of Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Derek was born on September 5, 1987 in Graham to Diann (Clary) Reyes and Lenny Steven Myatt. He graduated from Graham High School in 2006. Derek was active in the Graham High School Band, Football, and Track and Field. He played the part of Earthquake McGoon in the play "Lil Abner."

Survivors include: mother, Diann Reyes and husband Joe of Graham; brother, Lenny Myatt of Graham; paternal grandparents, Claude and Ellen Myatt of Graham; maternal grandparent, Chloe Brooks of Olney; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lenny Steven Myatt and grandmother, Dorothy Myatt.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
