D.L. Wood, Jr

D.L. Wood, Jr. 73, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cowboy Church of Young County with Berry Clower officiating. Burial will follow in Veale Creek Cemetery in Stephens County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

D.L. was born on January 26, 1936 in McLean, Texas to the late Dewey Lee and Gertrude (Wilson) Wood. He married Joyce Hollis on August 12, 1958 in Amarillo. D.L. was retired from Wal-Mart, a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Cowboy Church of Young County.

Survivors include: wife, Joyce Wood of Graham; daughters, Vicki Davis and Glen Burleson of Bryson and Cathy Stone and husband W.H. of Hobbs, New Mexico; grandchildren, Dustin Wood, Danielle Davis, Niki Cook, Caleb Stone, Mikey Davis, Stasia Wood, and Clover Stone; great grandchildren, Brailley Rogers, Danyl Wood, and Rhylee Stone; two nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
