Donna Faye Anderson Bailey, 89, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Donna was born August 16, 1933 in Paris, Texas to the late John Jeff and Gertrude (Morgan) Anderson. She married James H. Matkin April 28, 1962 in Dallas and he preceded her in death April 14, 1995. Donna married Victor Norman Bailey February 22, 2002 in Graham and he preceded her in death April 8, 2017.
Donna was retired from the Young County Probation Office as their Fiscal Officer. Donna was a member of First Baptist Church of Graham for 27 years. Donna loved music. She was a member of the church choir, played handbells, was a member of Prime Time Singers group, and was one of the church’s pianist. She became an accomplished musician of concert quality.
Donna was a royal ambassador sharing Jesus through her servants heart to the Graham community. She was a member of the Graham Hospital Auxiliary, participated in Meals on Wheels, sang and played piano at all the local nursing homes with the Prime Time Singers, and helped as a caregiver for many.
The most important thing to Donna was her family. She was extremely proud of all her great nieces and nephews and her precious great grandchildren.
Survivors include: nieces, Judy Oglesbee and husband, Michael of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Jeanie Finley and husband, Chris of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Joane Smith of Prescott, Arizona; nephew, John Henry Smith of Prescott, Arizona; step-son, Vic Bailey, Jr. and wife, Linda of Harlem, Georgia; granddaughter, Amber Hamm and husband, Mark of Graham; great nephews, Tim Oglesbee and wife, Amy, Wes Oglesbee and wife, Dee, John Jeff Oglesbee and wife, Samantha; great nieces, Laura Steeves and husband, Drew and Jessica DeMarzo and husband, Miky; great grandchildren, Jameson Hamm, Keller Hamm, and Beckett Hamm; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Patsy Jane Smith and Maxine Helen Stone, niece, Julie Parsons, and nephew, Daren Parsons.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Seniorly Yours, Graham Oaks Care Center, and Beyond Faith Hospice.
