Doris Bryant Birdwell, 88, passed away Thursday January 22, 2015 at her home in Graham. Funeral will be Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Doris was born January 21, 1927 in Meadow, Texas to the late George Edmond and Zula Belle (Jones) Bryant. She married Joe Bob Birdwell, October 9, 1946 in Graham. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1975. Doris was a lifetime resident of Graham, member of First Baptist Church, and a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary in Graham. She was the former bookkeeper and accountant for Graham Office Supply.
Survivors include; sons, Phil Birdwell and wife Kimberly of Graford, Kim Birdwell of Graham; sister, Gwendolyn Dodson and husband Charles of Newcastle; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bryant of Graham; grandchildren, Brad Birdwell and wife Heather and Hunter Birdwell; great grandchildren, Revan, Isaac, and Daniel; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The family is especially grateful for the loving care given by Doris's caregivers, Jamie, Jennifer, Sharon, and Eva.
Doris was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Bryant and two sisters, Vera Groover and Veda McCuistion.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
