Doris Ramsey Stewart

Mrs. Doris Ramsey Stewart passed away at her home in Graham, Texas on April 29, 2015. She was born February 6, 1925 in Beaumont, Texas to Loren and Ethel Ramsey.

 

She graduated from the University of Texas where she met her husband, Malcolm M Stewart. They married in Beaumont, Texas on October 2, 1948 and started their life together on the Stewart Ranch outside of Las Vegas, New Mexico. In 1957, they moved permanently to Graham.

 

Mrs. Stewart was a devoted wife to her husband and loving mother to her four children. She was an avid gardener and family historian, with a quick wit and sense of humor. Her family will always remember her kindness and the loving home that she created and maintained. She was a true Southern Lady in all regards.

 

Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm M Stewart; son, Malcolm M Stewart, Jr.; daughter, Graeme Stewart Shannon; grandson, Scott Shannon; and her sister, Marilyn Clemmons.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by daughters, Carol Stewart Waldrop and husband, Phil Waldrop, Houston, TX and Anne Stewart Youngblood and husband, Nathan Youngblood, Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Stefanie Nielson and husband, Kent Nielson, Hickory Creek, TX, Carolyn Shannon, Ft. Worth, TX, Philip Waldrop and wife, Meghan Waldrop, Houston, TX, Justin Waldrop, Seattle, WA, Emily Waldrop, Houston, TX and Stewart Youngblood, Socorro, NM; great-grandchildren, Malcolm Nielson and Ramsey Nielson.

 

Her family extends their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Mrs. Enedina Castro and Star Lewis for their care and compassion for Mr. and Mrs. Stewart over the last ten years. They would like to thank the personnel of the Graham Regional Home Health & Hospice, Dr. Pete Brown and Kevin Miracle for their support of the Stewarts and their family. Thank you to all of our friends and neighbors in Graham, TX and all of our Texas friends and neighbors for their concern and support of our Parents.

 

A private graveside service was held May 1, 2015 in the Pioneer Cemetery, Graham, TX under the direction of the Morrison Funeral Home.

 

A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Stewart at 11 AM, Monday, May 18, 2015 at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, Graham, TX.

 

In lieu of flowers, contribution in memory of Mrs. Stewart may be directed to the Graham Regional Home Health & Hospice, 523 Elm St., Graham, TX 76450; and Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1102 Hillcrest Dr., Graham, TX 76450, Graham SPCA; or any charity of your choice.
