Dorothy Mowrey, 86, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Tull of Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born May 3, 1923 in Vernon, Texas to the late Louis T. and Eunice Clopton Roller. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Arville Mowrey. She moved to Graham in 1957 from Bowie. Dorothy and her Father Louis Roller owned and operated Louis' Barbeque and Virginia Ham Restaurant next to Davidson Motor Company until 1985. After her father's death Dorothy was employed as a secretary for Texas Workforce Commission for 19 years. She also cleaned Fort Belknap Water Supply's offices for 10 plus years.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Davis and Sissy (Doris) Garvey both of Graham; sister, Doris Matney and husband Homer of Lawton, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Cathy Mowrey of Graham; five grandchildren, Stephanie Davis and husband Ron Sanders, Matt Garvey and wife Betsy, Shelley Melton and husband Johnnie, Neeley Reed, and Tracy Mowrey; two great grandchildren, Ashlee Melton and Hannah Davis; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Troy Mowrey, Jr. in 2006 and a grandson, Will Davis in 2000.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
