Dorothy Louise Bailey Nicholson, 92, an angel was sent to heaven when our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Loving Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born March 1, 1922 in Young County to Dennie Lowrey Bailey and Iris Irene (Frady) Bailey. After losing her mother to complications from childbirth, Dorothy was raised by her step-mother, Vera Crabb Bailey. Dorothy married the late Earl Ray "Nick" Nicholson January 20, 1937. Together they raised four daughters and a son. In addition of following the activities of her grandchildren, Dorothy spent her adult years keeping books for N&J Oilfield Construction, the Loving Community Center, and the Loving Water Supply Corporation. Because of her hobby of raising teacup poodles, she was often lovingly referred to as "the dog lady."

Survivors include: children, Martha Collier and husband, Joe of Wichita Falls, Patricia Brock Cayer of Clute, Barbara Daily and husband, Carroll of Loving, Nicki Hamilton and husband, David of Rhome and C.D. "Chuck" Nicholson and wife, Sammie Lynn of Graham. Dorothy's family grew to include 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren with another to arrive in June, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her half siblings, Peggy Scott and husband, Jack of Olney, Ramona Thomas and husband Bill of Mineral Wells, and Tony Bailey and wife Pat of Austin.

Family visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
