Duane Downey

Duane Downey, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Graham. Funeral services are scheduled Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Jean Cemetery, Jean Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Duane was born August 23, 1936 in Jean, Texas to the late B.D. and Ludie (Robinson) Downey. He was a longtime resident of Fort Worth where he was a Tarrant County Sheriff Deputy. He married Ann Yates, June 28, 1975 in Graham. Duane moved to Graham in 1992 from Fort Worth. He was a Young County Commissioner, Pct. 1 from 1993 to 2004.

Survivors include; wife, Ann Downey of Graham; daughter, Kristal Dilka of Johnstown, CO.; sons, Lynn Downey and wife Judy of Wichita, KS. and Scott Yates and wife Terri Lynn of Graham; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a nephew and a niece also survive.

Duane was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Walker and Vera Dell Woodley.

The Family will be at Morrison Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to greet friends.
