A military graveside service for Edgar Doyle Crager, 83, of Jermyn, Texas will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Jermyn with Bro. Pat Lockhart officiating. Mr. Crager was born August 16, 1925 in Polk County, Texas to the late Cruso and Edna (Perkins) Crager, and died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at his son's residence in Diboll, Texas.
Mr. Crager served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Doyle Crager Drilling Company in Midland, TX and the Evergreen Feed Store in Lufkin. Mr. Crager was a Christian and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle Crager of Jermyn, David and Lisa of Diboll, Corry and Sandy of Hewitt, Dorry and Cindy of Jermyn, Dennis and Lisa of Ocilla, GA., and Richard and Sherry of Nacogdoches, sister Josie Feazell of Leander, cousin Sue Perkins of Electra; nieces Cecelia Hermes of Austin and Vicki Feazell of Temple. Ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and special friends, Olan and LaRue Guice of Jermyn.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Lee (Gillespie), brother, Vernon and brother-in-law, Ed Feazell.
Pallbearers will be his sons.
Family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 8 at Morrison Funeral Home in Graham.
