Elizabeth Hefner passed away November 13, 2010 at her home in Dallas. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
She was born October 26, 1936 to Dr. and Mrs. K. D. Oates in Graham, Texas. After graduation from Graham High School, Elizabeth attended Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Elizabeth graduated in 1959 with a BA in Art. After college, Elizabeth married James Hugh Hefner, and they settled in Dallas. They had two children, James Jr. and Finley. Elizabeth was very active in the PTAs of her children's schools, managed the school cafeteria, and volunteered to lead several Brownie and Girl Scout troops. Elizabeth followed her passion and started her own successful Interior Design business which she enjoyed for many years. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her daughter Finley McDonald.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, her son James and his wife Lynne their children Jordan and Graham all of Dallas, and by her grandson James McDonald of Keller. She also, leaves behind a younger sister, Gillie Odom of Graham and a host of loyal friends and relatives.
