Fay Tucker Edwards

Fay Tucker Edwards, 92, of Graham, Texas passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 12, 2009. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Fay was born on January 24, 1917 in Jean, Texas to the late Frank and Gertie Sparks. She used the lessons of her childhood farm upbringing and grew into a generous, creative, and talented wife, mother, and friend with the special gift of hospitality. Her home became her blank canvas to share her art of cooking, decorating, sewing, and "home-making." At age 19, she married Lois Tucker of Tucker and Stephens on August 9, 1935 in Olney. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1962. As a young widow, Fay met and married Eugene Edwards in October of 1966. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1987.

In her later years of life, Fay was a shining example to family and friends on how to age with faith, grace, courage, and joy. She was a lifelong member of Eastside Church of Christ. Her Christian faith and fervent prayer life sustained her throughout her life. She will be missed and remain in our hearts always.

Survivors include: two daughters, Janie Edwards and husband Don of Dallas, and Judy Wadley of Graham; three grandchildren, Allison Summers, Jason Edwards, Drew Edwards; two great grandchildren; sister, Dean Gaston, and many beloved nieces and nephews; she is also survived by stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Fay was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Cooper and a grandson, Ben Edwards.

The family will receive friends before the service on Friday at the funeral home.
