Floyd was born on February 17, 1932 to Jack Albert and Gladys Sylvia (Manley) Thomas in Jack County. He attended various community schools in Antelope, Jermyn, and Bryson. His passion from a very early age was always automobiles. This led him to a lifelong career of working on all types of vehicles. He worked at various places before settling in Graham where he started working at Glass Motor Company where he was parts manager. After saving his money from this job, he was able to open his own auto repair businesses and wrecking yards located on most every major highway around the city throughout his lifelong career. He was also in the house moving business for awhile; until a near fatal accident pinning him underneath a building and severely damaging his leg which eventually forced him to quit that business. His favorite pastime was fishing. He loved fishing sometimes more than working. It was never too hot, too cold, or too anything else to keep off the banks of the Brazos River or any other spot where he heard the fish were biting. His other favorite pastime was drinking coffee daily with all his friends at various places around town.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Jeanene Fitzgerald Thomas, and his second wife Leola Gilmore Thomas.
He is survived by one son Bruce Allen Thomas of Graham, Texas, one sister Grace Thomas Martin of Antelope community in Jack County, two stepsons, many nieces and nephews, and many close friends who will thoroughly miss his jokes and humor.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
