Frances Thetford

Frances Thetford, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in Graham. Graveside funeral will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Gooseneck Cemetery in Young County. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Frances was born January 17, 1924 in Haskell, Texas to the late Will Henry Gathings and Lilly Fay Gardner Gathings. She married Robert Carl Thetford, August 6, 1941 in Graham. He preceded her in death March 29, 1968. Frances was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include: daughters, Phyllis Vanhooser and husband, Stanley of Bryan and Wendy Grubbs and husband, Gordon of Newcastle; sons, Pete Thetford and wife, Bonnie of Phoenix, AZ and Ronnie Thetford and wife, Martha of Lewisville; sister, Lilly Flanders of Olney; step-son, Robert Carlton Thetford of Wichita Falls; 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons, Richard D. Thetford and Arlen L. Thetford.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
