Freda Brown, 80, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Granbury, after battling a reoccurrence of breast cancer. Funeral will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastside Church of Christ in Graham. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Nocona Cemetery in Nocona, Texas under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Freda was born October 13, 1935, to Rufus Gettis McCool and Dura Vowell McCool. She graduated from Nocona High School in 1953. She married, Bobby Evan Brown, August 1, 1953, they were married for sixty-one years before his death January 3, 2015. She was a bookkeeper at Stephens Trucks in Graham for over thirty years before her retirement in 2011. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ in Graham for over thirty years before moving to Granbury in 2013. Freda was a member of Desk and Derrick Club in Graham, The Pecan Plantation Women's Club, Granbury Church of Christ where she was a member of The Newcomers Club and Ladies Bible Class.
Survivors include; son, Darrell Brown and wife Sandra of Granbury; daughters, Diane Ivy and husband Randy of Hale Center, and Melanie Brown of Abilene; five grandchildren, Brittany Ivy Carter and husband Marc of Granbury, Brad Ivy of Austin, Brennan Ivy Bailey and husband Brant of Graham, Nicole Brown and Danielle Brown of Granbury; three great grandchildren, Cooper Carter, Quinn Carter and Oliver Jack Bailey; brother, Donnie McCool and wife Reba of Graham; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Family Visitation will be Monday, March 7, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.
