Fredna Mae Rogers, 84, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 in Graham. Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park.
Fredna was born May 19, 1939 in Antelope to the late Fred E. and Beulah Mae (Bohannon) Ruth. She married James Howard Rogers February 17, 1955 in Iowa Park and he preceded her in death September 17, 1995. She was granny Fredna to all the kids. When Chase was a freshman in high school, she picked a carload up every Monday and took them to her house and fed them lunch and then would take them back to school even though she was one that didn’t like to cook. She was always there for her grandchildren whether it be football baseball or softball, she was one of their biggest fans. She was either in the stands, working in the concession stand or whatever she needed to do. She was an only child that grew up in the oilfield on the lease. She thought all the pumpers were there to play with her and she would tell her dad’s boss, they wouldn’t play with me and to go get them pumpers, he would say, you need to play with her and she just loved it. She worked 32 plus years at GMI so, if you worked there, you knew how opinionated she was and if you did something she didn’t like you got that granny Fredna look. But she took up for the people that worked for her. And everybody knew that woman did not like gravy and did not want it anywhere on her plate touching anything. If gravy was made in the pan and wasn’t cleaned up afterwards, she threw the pan away and wouldn’t clean up after it.
Survivors include: daughter, Arleta Ford of Graham; daughter-in-law, Vonna Sue Rogers of Graham; grandchildren, Shelly Tinney, Matt Ford and wife, Kati, Kyle Rogers and wife, Rachel, Chad Rogers and wife, Courtney, and Chase Ford; great grandchildren, Zander Tinney, Jase Roberts, Havyn Ford and Harrison Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Rogers.
