Gary "Popsi" Lynn Clayton

Gary Lynn "Popsi" Clayton, 54, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at his home in Bryson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Graham with Reverend Tammy Valentine of Bryson and Gary's nephew Reverend Kyle Embry of Flower Mound officiating. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Gary was born on January 28, 1954 in Olney to Junior Lee and Anita Joy (Swaim) Clayton. He married Earl Dene McGehee on August 31, 1973 in Olney. Gary was a salesman for CDI Energy Services. He served on the Bryson School Board for 12 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bryson. Gary enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities and loved his work, riding his Harley and driving his 64 Chevelle.

Survivors include: wife, Earl Dene Clayton of Bryson; mother, Anita Clayton of Olney; daughter, Mandy Hearne and husband Gene of Loving; son, Gary Brent Clayton and wife Kaci of Breckenridge; sister, Joyce Corwin of Olney; brother, Johnny Clayton and wife Angela of Olney; six grandchildren, Krisha Hamm, Spur Hearne, Konner Hamm, Chase Hearne, Jayton Hearne, and Hunter Clayton; father and mother in-law, Bobby and Mildred McGehee; sister in-laws, Sue Gabel and husband David and Becky Kirkendol; brother in-law, Bobby McGehee and wife Lisa; many special aunts and uncles, 18 nieces and nephews, and 7 great nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Junior Lee Clayton and a brother, Bobby Clayton.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
