She married William Carl Thetford September 3, 1949 in Graham. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2018. Gayle was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and was a member of the Agape Ministry for many years. She loved the Lord and loved her family. Each member knew they were loved by their mom and Granny and she made each one feel very special. She had a comforting and warm way and loved to laugh. Gayle also had many dear friends from Graham, Waco, Nacogdoches, and Possum Kingdom Lake whom she loved. She loved spending time with them all and especially her dear friend and neighbor, Cindy Elsberry. She had a special place in her heart for Pastor Joe Finfrock and his dear wife, Patty Finfrock. Although extremely biased, her family believes she exhibited many, many traits of the Godly woman described in Proverbs 31.
