George A. Stephens

George A. Stephens, 80, passed away in Graham, Tuesday, December 20, 2011. A Graveside funeral will be held Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Mountain Top Family Cemetery in Young County. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

George was born August 16, 1931 in Williamson County, Texas to the late Lloyd Alvin and Grace Myrtle (Taylor) Stephens. He married Wanda June Blackmon, November 15, 1958 in Plainview, Texas. She preceded him in death on, November 6, 2002. George was a self employed carpenter for 50 years working mostly in the Dallas area. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Community Baptist Church of Blackland, Texas.

Survivors include; daughters, Lee Ann Keeney and husband Kent of Richardson and Brenda Teeter and husband Stan of Hawkins; son, George Stephens, Jr. and wife Paula of Monett, Missouri; grandchildren, William Lee Keeney and wife Sunny, Johnny Podsednik, and Drew Stephens; great grandchildren, Isaac and Henry Keeney; sisters, Grace Hill of Lubbock and Mary Garrison of Tulia.

George was preceded in death by a grandson, Monty Hubbard, a sister, Nedra Boyd, and a brother, Lloyd Stephens, Jr.
