Gerald Wesley Barrett

Gerald Wesley Barrett, Sr., 76, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at his home near Newcastle.  Graveside funeral will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Newcastle Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Gerald was born October 30, 1943 in San Diego, CA. to the late Emma Lee (Stevens) Barrett and Horace Wesley Barrett.  He attended Newcastle and Graham schools and Barber school in Wichita Falls.  Gerald married JoAnn Hill July 20, 1963 in Odessa, Texas.  He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and a longtime resident of Newcastle.   Gerald was a construction manager in Graham and worked at the building of several businesses in the area.

Survivors include; wife, JoAnn Barrett of Newcastle; daughter, Melanie Barrett of Newcastle; sons, Gerald Wesley Barrett, Jr. of Newcastle and Michael Shane Barrett and wife Wil of Newcastle; six grandchildren, Jessicca, Hayley, Alexandra, Olivia, Hagen, and Dixi; five great grandchildren, Damian, Harlow, Noah, Roman, and Shane.
