Geraldine ""Gerri"" Hughes
Geraldine "Gerri" Hughes, 80, of Graham, Texas passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Faith Center Assembly of God with Charlie Bazan and Elmer Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Gerri was born March 16, 1931 in Pella, Iowa to the late Bert and Hilda (De Cook) Van Haaften. She married Robert Dean "Bob" Hughes on December 20, 1951 in Pella, Iowa. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2011. Gerri was a member of Faith Center Assembly of God. She had a deep love for her Lord Jesus Christ which was shown through her service to her church, the youth of the community, her love for friends, and the community as a whole. For a forty year period she had a career as a Real Estate Agent and a Title Insurance sales person.
Survivors: sons, Douglas Craig Hughes and wife Sherry of Claremont, CA., Thomas Lee Hughes and wife Benita of Rancho Cucamonga, CA., sisters, June Verros, Mitz Ruud, and Joey De Vriez all of Pella, Iowa, brother, Arnold Van Haaften of Altoona, Iowa, grandchildren, Jennifer Ballesteros, Kristy Hughes, Robert Hughes, and Janelle Hughes, great-grandchildren, Aiden and Andrew Ballesteros.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials be made to Faith Center Assembly of God, 1601 N. 380 Bypass Graham, TX. 76450.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8pm at Morrison Funeral Home.
