Grace Anderson Garrett

Grace Anderson Garrett, 92, of Kingsland, formerly of Bryson, Texas and Odessa, Texas, passed away October 4, 2010. She was born to William Henry and Forrest Susan (Adams) Anderson on January 10, 1918 in Kinney, Texas.

She married Leonard Blanton Garrett on September 10, 1938 and he preceded her in death 1991. Mrs. Garrett was a member of the Highland Lakes Baptist Church in Kingsland and a member of the Kings Ladies Sunday School Class. She was a past-board of director for the Kingsland Senior Center where she loved to play dominos and cards. Another favorite activity was crocheting and she was a hand quilter.

She is survived by her children, Doyle Wayne Garrett and wife Susie, of Odessa, Thomas William Garrett and wife Pat, of Thibodeaux Louisiana, Patricia Rose Ball and husband Claybourn, of Kingsland, eight grandchildren, nineteen-great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Lee Anderson, of Graham, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, father, and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Ouida Blanche Arnold.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 7, 2010 at the Putnam Funeral Home Chapel in Kingsland. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
