Gwendolyn Brooks Thompson, 92, affectionately known as "Mee-ma" passed away from this world peacefully on the morning of January 14, 2013, in Graham to begin her eternal life in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Gwendolyn was born August 10, 1920 in Graham, Texas at the family home place to the late Lewis Wilson and Mollie Brooks. She attended the Medlan Chapel School and graduated in Graham. She married Rollie R. Thompson on November 12, 1938 and he passed away June 18, 1981. She married Lloyd H. Howell in 1988 and he passed away July 12, 1998.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to those in her life. She had a servant's heart and loved family immensely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis W. and Mollie Brooks, two sisters, Wilma Brooks Sims and Elisa Brooks Neve, and brother, Russell Thurman Brooks.
Survivors include: two daughters, JoAnn Nunley and husbandMickey of Snyder and Mary Ellen Trammell and husband, Archie of Mansfield; 4 grandchildren, Rhonda Bratton and husband Louis of Austin, Rollen Nunley of Snyder, Michele Miracle and husband Kevin of Graham, and Doug Seitz and wife Aracely of Arlington; 9 great grandchildren, Hannah Bratton of Fort Worth, Sarabeth Bratton of Austin, Lilian Bratton of Austin, Brooks Nunley and wife Karis of Friendswood, Emma Nunley of Lubbock, Clark Miracle of Graham, Marisa Miracle of Graham, Brett Seitz of Arlington, and Gannen Seitz of Arlington; two great great grandchildren, Zaylee Nunley of Friendswood and Jaxson Nunley of Friendswood.
