Harold Edward Antle, 96, passed away Friday, January 24th, 2025 in Graham. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 at Morrison Funeral Home, Graham, TX. Memorial service will be Thursday, January 30th at 11:00 A.M., First Presbyterian Church, Graham, Texas.
Harold (Ed) was born in Vernon to the late William Roy and Era Antle on November 29, 1928. Ed graduated from Vernon High School in 1946 and went on to receive his degree at SMU in geology. Ed met his wife Barbara in 1952 when his fraternity brother invited him on a blind double-date. He and Barbara were happily married in 1953. After remaining in Dallas for five years, Ed and Barbara, with their growing family (Melaney Kay and William Robert) moved to Graham where Ed's company was developing oil and gas assets nearby. In 1959, Michael Lee arrived and completed their family of five. Shortly after, Ed started his own venture operating oil and gas properties in 1965. In 1994, Antle Operating Inc. was formed with his son William Robert Antle where he worked until he retired in 2019.
While on earth, Ed was a faithful and steady servant. He sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church for over sixty-five years, where he also served terms as a deacon and elder. He was a longtime member of the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of Graham. Ed lived quietly, considerately, and generously towards his loved ones. When he wasn't working or involved at church, you could find him playing golf (very quickly), hunting, or fishing.
Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Melaney Kay Gillaspie Antle, who passed away June 6, 2003, his wife, Barbara Louise Antle, who passed February 15, 2020, and his brother Don Antle. He is survived by his two sons, Mike Antle of McKinney and Bob Antle and wife Nikki of Graham, two grandchildren Robert Antle and wife Amber of Austin, TX, Johnny Antle and wife Christy of Charlotte, NC, five great grandchildren, and two adopted grandchildren, Nathan Pinson and Quinton Pinson of San Antonio, TX.
The Family ask that Memorials be made to collegegolffellowship.com, Fellowship of Christian Athletes at my.fca.org or Meals on Wheels.
