Harold Sonny Starkey

Harold "Sonny" Starkey, 64, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 in Graham. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Country Road Fellowship. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Sonny was born on November 23, 1947 in Amarillo to Jess Harold and Edith Lavelle (Billingsley) Starkey. He married Cynthia Ann (McGavock) Starkey on June 18, 1971 in Happy. Sonny was a welder employed by Southern Bleachers.

Survivors include: wife, Cynthia Starkey of Graham; sons, Jay Starkey and wife, Sheila of Graham and Dennis Starkey and wife, Bobbie of Graham; mother, Lavelle Starkey of Happy; sisters, Mary Ferguson and husband, Norman of Graham, Sherri Bell and husband, Doug of Newcastle, and Elaine McNeill and husband, James of Floydada; 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jess Starkey.

Memorials may be made to Cynthia Starkey for his medical expenses.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
