Henry Downey Freeze, Jr.

Henry Downey Freeze, Jr. "Mish", 65, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Mish was born January 24, 1950 in Olney to the late Henry Downey and Pauline Alice (Womack) Freeze, Sr. He married Donna Dean Calhoun January 27, 1972 in Graham. Mish was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in Vietnam. He retired from Oncor after 40 years and was a member of the VFW and NRA.

Mish was an avid reader of obituaries and we would be remiss to give him a cookie cutter version. He loved his family, guns, practical jokes, fox news set to the TV volume of 65, a good stiff Captain Morgan and Diet Coke, and telling stories over and over again with slight to moderate changes for entertainment value.

Mish passed on absolutely nothing like he lived. Quietly and peacefully. He leaves behind a very dysfunctional family that he was fiercely proud of. We ask that you stop by and retell the stories he can no longer tell...embellishments are welcome.

He left us with these pearls of wisdom: He had worse places on his lip and never quit whistling, get mean-get tough, old spice on children's fresh cut wounds are always a good idea, if someone is going to cry, it ain't going to be me (You totally won that one Mish), everyone brings joy to this office-some when they enter and others when they leave, and ended every phone call and email to his family with "You are my sunshine."

Survivors include: wife, Donna Freeze of Graham; daughter, Carrie Freeze Novas and husband, Mark of Lexington, Massachusetts and Jamie Freeze Land and husband, Chad of Graham; grandchildren, Taylor Anne, Mikey, Ryan, Joshua, Mark Henry, and Skyler; brother, David Freeze of Dallas; sister, Frederica Hauger of Graham.

He was preceded in death by sister, Phillis Goodin.

Family visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
