Hugh Glen Grubbs, 90, of Newcastle, Texas passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Graham. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Hugh was born April 8, 1925 in Jean, Texas to the late George Washington and Ida Pearl (Brooks ) Grubbs. He married Betty Jo Simpson on December 11, 1948 in Odessa, Texas. Hugh was Veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Graham where he taught Sunday School for 30+ years. Hugh was a retired Young County Judge and had served as Young County Clerk. He was a member of the Graham Lions Club, American Legion, and Graham Historical Society.
Survivors: wife; Betty Jo Simpson Grubbs of Newcastle, daughter; Vicki Nunn and husband Larry of Midland, sons; Gordon H. Grubbs and wife Wendy of Newcastle, Mark C. Grubbs and wife InSuk of Kansas City, Michael R. Blevins and wife Susan of Granbury, grandchildren; Bill Grubbs, Jason Grubbs, Becky Jones, Ashley Castro, Brian Blevins, Eric Blevins and Alisha Grubbs, ten great grandchildren.
Hugh was preceded in death by a daughter; Debra Ann Grubbs, sisters; Ovell McSpadden, Ruby Buffington, Ethel Black and Thelma Grubbs, brothers; Aubrey Grubbs and Robert Grubbs.
