Inez Elizabeth Brock, 90, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Jacksboro. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Inez was born April 1, 1924 in Dallas to the late Charles and Hattie L. ( Edwards) Burden. She married John Ferrell Brock Sr. and he preceded her in death.
She was the youngest of nine children, and grew up in Dallas, Texas. Inez was an avid gardener, and many family members have pictures of her flower gardens over the years. She was a professional baseball fan, and everyone knew not to call her during the World's Series. Her cherry pie, chocolate cake, fried chicken, and spaghetti sauce are all family favorites. Grandchildren remember individual special times with her, clothes she made for them, and the loving care she gave to everyone. She had many friends, and those who met her, including service people, all loved her and enjoyed her kindness. Her worst kept secret was always keeping a Hershey's chocolate bar stashed away somewhere. She always had good advice for her family, and gave them a love of books, current events, good manners, and taking care of each other. She saved family cards and letters, as we saved hers. Inez shared her faith and passed it on to her children, and they take comfort in the knowledge that she felt her life was well spent.
Survivors include: son, Paul M. and Kay Pond of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Steven and Suzanna Pond and Mike and Melissa Pond; daughter, Susan and Don Austin of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Kevin and Juillette Dennis and Julie and Eric Letsche; son, Paul M. and Kay Pond of Arlington; daughter, Elizabeth Pond Walker and friend Ron Stoneberger of Parson, Kansas; grandchildren, Emily and Michael Johnson, Bo and Cassandra Hamilton, Katie Walker and Alex Stoneberger, Hannah Walker, Michael Walker, Matthew Walker, and Bryan Walker; great great grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Bailey, Jackson and Reed Logan, Austin, Isabelle, Anson and Ella Johnson, Isabella Hamilton, Eden Stoneberger, Lee Dennis, Jackson, Andrew, Benjamin, and Zachary Letsche, and Noel, Anna Kate, Rose, and Noemi Pond.
