James E. Covey

James E. Covey, age 77, passed away at his home in Graham on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. A graveside funeral service with Pastor Aaron Gowens presiding will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 26, 2024 in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

James was born on October 20, 1946 in Lueders, TX to James and Margrete (Felts) Covey. He served in the United States Army including 2 tours in Vietnam. James married the love of this life, Lois Smith, on January 2, 2009 in Graham.

James is survived by his wife, Lois Covey; brother, Dennie Covey and wife Debbie; sisters, Gayla Cox and Rhetha Joy Elliot; brother in law, Jim Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margrete Covey; and siblings, Luellen, Barbara, Margret, Pat, Forest, Ricky, and Scotty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of James to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Newcastle 501 Graham St, Newcastle, TX 76372
