James Edward Delong

James Edward DeLong, 93, passed away at his home Sunday, October 15, 2023 in Graham.  Graveside funeral will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

James was born July 8, 1930 in Newcastle to the late Lillian Edith (Morris) DeLong and Marshall Edward DeLong.  James married Lois LaVerne Smith January 17, 1950 in Wichita Falls.  She preceded him in death on February 10, 2013.  James was a master carpenter having worked for Weatherbee Construction for 12 years.  He also worked at Graham Magnetics Incorporated for over 20 years.  James was a member of Newcastle Methodist Church and served on the Newcastle Cemetery Board.

Survivors include; daughter, Margaret Celeste Fulbright of Graham; sons, David DeLong of Graham and Andy DeLong and wife Vicki of Chandler, AZ.; grandchildren, Chris Norris and wife Emily, Alex DeLong, Emily Grivon and husband George, Jane Leriche and husband Michael, Thomas Allen and wife Abbey, Lindsey Allen, Jordan Luevano and husband Nick, Angie Roznowsky and husband Kevin, Kenneth Fulbright and wife Jayme, Lori Fulbright, Ken Clay Fulbright and wife Jordan; niece, Gloria Smith Bragg, her daughter Piper Kate Simpson and husband John; 20 great grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews also survive. 

James was preceded in death by his siblings, Marshall Wade DeLong and Mona LaVerne Grimes.
