James Stokes Norman, 85, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Bethesda Cemetery in Parker County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
James was born November 24, 1927 in Weatherford to the late Stokes and Nancy Elizabeth (Smith) Norman. He married Beverly Paschall May 8, 1955 in Van Zandt County. James was a former student of Texas A&M University class of 1954. He was a County Extension Agent for Van Zandt, Fisher, and Young Counties for over thirty years and retired in 1983. He was veteran of the United States Air Force serving in World War II. He and his family moved to Graham in 1967 from Roby. He was Past President of the Graham Noon Lions Club where he was still active. James was an active member of the First United Methodist Church having served on numerous committees and boards. He had a great love for his wife and family.
Survivors include: wife, Beverly Norman of Graham; sons, J. Neil Norman and wife, Patrece of Granbury and W. Drue Norman and wife, Angela of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Chris Norman and wife Lani of Roanoke, Erin Stone and husband, Preston of College Station, Mallory Norman, and Lindsey Norman of Fort Worth.
The family will greet friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
