James Weldon Spivey

James Weldon Spivey passed away recently in Palm Springs, California. He will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery in Graham.

Weldon was born March 17,1927 in Graham to Gus and Jessie Spivey. Weldon graduated from Graham High School and Southern Methodist University. He worked for awhile in New York City before returning to Graham, where he served the rest of his career with the US Postal Service. He traveled extensively and appreciated music and art. Weldon was a good friend to many and was a very good uncle to his 3 nephews and two nieces. May he rest in peace.

He is survived by sisters, Mona Applewhite of Ft. Worth and Shirley Hawkins and husband G.A . of Graham.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Bean.
