Janice Young

Janice Lee Young, 74, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at her home in Eliasville. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Eliasville. Burial will follow in Eliasville Cemetery. 

Janice was born October 2, 1950 in Fort Hood to the late Clinton Reed and Mildred Lee (Long) Marks, Sr. She married Clay Young August 14, 1971 in San Antonio, TX. Janice was a lover of all things music. Loved teaching (40+ years) and her Sunday school class. she was music director for approximately 12 years at College Ave., Baptist Church in McGregor Texas. She loved children in general and would go over and above to help a child in need even if it was stepping into a roll of make shift parent. Janice was a devoted, wife, mother and friend. She definitely enjoyed all things considered bling, and was a fierce lover of Christ. She has set an amazing example for those around her as how to be as a human. She was with loved ones as she passed very peacefully. She’ll be greatly missed. We love you, Mimi. 

Survivors include: husband, Clay Young of Eliasville; daughters, Sharon Kay Young of Eliasville and Sarah Faye Lance and husband, Kem of Kemper; son, Randall Clay Young of Alaska; sisters, Gwendolyn Faye Marks of California and Kay Ellen Johnston and husband, John of Coco, Florida; sister-in-law, Juanell Marks of Plano; several grandchildren. "Adapted" children, Brent Brooks and Melinda Barton of Eliasville. 

She was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Reed Marks, Jr.
