J.C. Merriman

J.C. Merriman, 88, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Graham. Graveside services will be held at the Stanley, Oklahoma Cemetery, Monday June 11, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

He was born July 10, 1923, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Maude Tyler (Merriman) and Elmer Merriman. J.C married Betty Simmons his first wife, of Long Beach California. Betty passed away after 42 years of marriage. He was then united in marriage to Bella Bacon with whom he spent the rest of his life in Graham, Texas.

J.C is survived by his wife Bella, daughters Marvele and husband Kenneth Evetts, Juanita and husband David Rupe, Annette and husband Tommy Williams, his sister Mavis Chilcoat, neice Patricha Williams and nephew Bobby Chilcoat, all from Oklahoma. J.C has eight grandchildren and nine great -grandchildren. His family with Bella are Natha and husband Bill Duncan, two grandchildren Jack and Tonya Clifton and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by both parents, his first wife Betty, daughter Marie Sparks, grandson Shane Rupe and brother R.D.
