Jean Patterson

Wanda Jolene "Jean" Patterson passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 in Fairfax, VA. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Morrison Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Jean was born March 8, 1931 in Texline TX to Luke Walker and Verna "Billie" Scoggins Walker. She graduated from Seminole High School in 1948. Jean married Ben Patterson in August, 1949 at the First Methodist Church in Odessa, TX. She attended cosmetology school in Odessa and worked for many years as a Hair Stylist. Ben and Jean moved to Graham in 1978 and remained married until Ben's death in August, 1988. She joined the First Presbyterian Church in Graham and worked in the infant nursery.

Jean suffered a catastrophic stroke at the age of 61 and met the challenges of life as a hemiplegic for the rest of her life. She moved to VA to be with her daughter and family and enjoyed her life with family and friends until the last few months of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah, son-in-law, Randy, granddaughter, Corinne, grandson, Jacob along with her sister, Alberta Arledge, brother-in-law, Charles Arledge, brother Ray Waldrep and Brother Ben Waldrep as well as her beloved nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
