Jeana Rose Shambeck was born April 22, 1933, in Millsap, Texas, to the late Louise Morton and Oliver Burl Rose and passed away October 23, 2022, in Lewisville, Texas.
Following graduation from Graham High School in 1950, Jeana attended Texas Tech University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority her freshman year. A family illness prevented her from continuing, and she returned to Graham to work at The Graham Saddlery.
Jeana married Louis John Shambeck on February 12, 1955. After Louis entered the ministry, Jeana completed her degree at the University of North Texas. She taught various grades in elementary school as she raised a family and supported Louis’ ministry until her retirement after over 22 years. Jeana and Louis retired to their home on Lake Graham. Jeana moved to Flower Mound, Texas, to be near family upon Louis’ death in 1997. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.
Jeana developed a love of teaching and sports at a young age, following her father on his rounds as the Graham High School principal. She loved to watch and support sports teams with Louis when their children were involved in high school football, basketball, and cheerleading. Jeana seldom missed watching the Dallas teams – following the Cowboys, Rangers, and Mavericks.
Family was always most important to Jeana, and she had the best family getaways for her children and their families at Lake Graham. She was an exceptional cook, and her peanut brittle, chocolate sheet cake and pecan pie recipes are a cherished legacy. She never forgot to bring the grandchildren’s favorite side dish of pickled beets to family gatherings.
Jeana was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis, and her older sister, Gwen (Rose) Hearn. She is survived by her three children, Mark L. Shambeck and wife Glenajo, Laurie S. Davidson and husband Vinse, and Jana M. Richmond and husband Perry. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Lauren Shambeck, Amanda White, Faith Harbin, Andrew, Brooke, and Christina Davidson, Taylor Richmond, Allison Jones, Macie Wyers, and Whitney Blackmon; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Morrison Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until service time.
