Jerry Oliver Herring

Jerry Oliver Herring, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Graham. Graveside service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gazebo at Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Jerry was born June 24, 1933 in Graham to the late Oliver Andrew and Maybell Ann (Mayes) Herring. He married Mary Margaret Young, March 4, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death August 29, 1996. Jerry graduated from Graham High School, He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in the Korean War where he was stationed in Turkey. He was a substance abuse counselor in Elko, Nevada, he moved to Graham in 1998.

Survivors include: brother, Fred Herring and wife, Margaret of Graham; nephew, Scott Herring and wife Julie of Denton; niece, Cindy Morrison and husband Raymond of Ashville, NC; six great nieces and nephews also survive.
