Geraldine "Jerrye" Milam, 77, went home to join family and friends with the Lord on April 8, 2013 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Eastside Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Morrison Funeral Home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Jerrye was born May 24, 1935 to the late Thad and Louella Campbell in Graham. She graduated from Graham High School in 1953 where she and her sister Ruth were active in the band. She was also a member of Young County 4H and a Gold Star recipient. She was married to Zohn Milam for 53 years, who preceded her in death in January 2011.
Jerrye was a very active homemaker, business woman and civic leader. She retired as office manager from Bettis, Boyle, and Stovall with 37 years of service. She was a founding member of Graham Desk and Derrick club; she served on the Graham City Council, was mayor pro-tem, and the only woman to serve as Mayor of Graham. She was a member of the Graham Chamber of Commerce Red Coats; participated in Main Street; served on the Cancer Society board as well as the GRMC hospital auxiliary. Jerrye was devoted to the Lord and loved her church families she served with at the Eliasville Church of Christ and Eastside Church of Christ in Graham. Even with her active business and social life, we are so proud of our mother, Big Mama, sister and aunt for who she was to our family and the time spent showing all of us that we were loved and more important than any of her other accomplishments.
Jerrye is survived by daughter, Pam Stroud and husband Jay of Irving; son, Kyle Milam and wife, Rhnea of Graham; sister, Ruth Walker of Graham; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlotte and George Hutcheson of Ft.
