Jo Dell Eubanks 93, formerly of Graham passed away Friday June 28, 2024 in Breckenridge, Texas. Funeral service will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at 10 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Jo Dell was born on May 19, 1931 to the late Lucille Looney Bell and William H. Bell in Electra, Texas. She moved to Breckenridge from Pampa Texas when she was a Junior in High School. She was a member of the Buckaroo Band where she was a twirler and graduated in 1949. She married her high school sweetheart Rex Eubanks on September 9, 1950.
While living in Breckenridge Jo Dell worked for PETCO and raised her family. She moved from Breckenridge to Graham in 1972 where she worked for Graham Magnetics for fifteen years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Graham, The Circuit Riders Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women's Group. She was active in her church and enjoyed preparing meals and serving in the Samaritans Group.
Jo Dell enjoyed music and dancing and was known for her ability to fry up the best crappie this side of Pollywog Slew. Her well-kept secret recipe for preparing the crappie and her husband Rex's ability to catch an almost endless supply was the centerpiece of many enjoyable gatherings by family and friends at the Eubanks' home.
Jo Dell and Rex moved to The Woodlands Assisted Living Center in Eastland in 2020 where she lived for four years. During this time she made many new friends but also lost the love of her life, her husband Rex who preceded her in death a short time after the move. She moved to the Villa Haven Nursing Home in Breckenridge earlier this year where she spent her final months.
The family wants to thank all the caregivers from The Woodlands in Eastland and Villa Haven in Breckenridge and a special thanks to all the wonderful people from Solaris that made her last days a peaceful and graceful experience for both Jo and her family.
Survivors include a daughter Phyllis Curry and husband Bruce of Breckenridge; son Terry Eubanks of Amarillo; sister Carolyn Biggerstaff of Chico, Texas, a brother William G. Bell and wife Bodil of Sugarland, Texas; two grandchildren, Christopher Rex Curry and wife Mandy of Midland and Pamela Nicole Harvell of Breckenridge; three great grandchildren Laura Grace Biggs, Lilly Katherine Curry, and Mason Wayne Harvell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Jo Dell was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Rex.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church P.O. Box 88 Graham, Texas 76450 or Meals on Wheels 825 Fairview St. Graham, Texas 76450.
